I didn’t know my Postal Genie was shutting down?
We are sorry you did not see the messages. We had press releases with the industry news agencies. We posted messages on our Facebook page. We sent several messages to the email address associated with the Postal Genie account since May 1, 2016. The former owner even reached out with phone calls to remaining account holders notifying them of the imminent shut down of the server at the end of the 2017. So we feel we have covered all the avenues of communications to warn stores using Postal Genie of the shut down.
How long will my Postal Genie continue to operate?
That depends. Postal Genie was designed to work on older computers and if your older computer crashes your replacement computer will most likely not operate Postal Genie. VSoftwareTools will not stop the launch of Postal Genie software but we will shut down the notification servers on 12/31/2017. If you are using the notification service of Postal Genie you will most likely encounter errors during the launch. Any errors encountered will not be supported going forward.
Where can I get PMTools?
PMTools can be downloaded at www.vsoftwaretools.com and clicking on the PMTools logo. If you are a Annex Brands store please call the corporate office of Annex Brands, or call VSoftwareTools at 800-778-4078 to get a link to PMTools for Annex.
Is it difficult to switch to PMTools and use PIMMS?
No. If you have maintained, and kept synchronized, your Postal Genie customer information to your PostalMate Mailbox Manager then the switch will be easy. PMTools safely connects to your PostalMate database and reads and writes to your Mailbox Manager.
Do I have to have PostalMate to use PMTools?
Yes. PMTools will only run on systems with PostalMate point of sale.
I use Postal Genie but I do not have PostalMate?
PMTools will only work on store systems that are using PostalMate.
Why doesn’t VSoftwareTools just update Postal Genie to work on newer computers?
We have looked into the cost of doing that and it’s just too expensive to change and support. Plus PMTools already includes a solution called PIMMS, one of our 65+ tools available that performs the same features you are accustomed to in Postal Genie.
